Sizihwan is the summit of the Kaohsiung dusk — and the most common mistake is having no plan for the minute the sun drops. The answer: Hamasen for dinner, then give the night back to the city.
Act one: the sunset
Seawall position an hour early; the tunnel mouth by the university is the veterans’ angle. Sea wind, falling light — the least technical romance in the city.
Act two: Hamasen dinner (immediately after)
The old diners around the ferry station take the handoff — fresh catch, old plates. The only rule: they fold by nine, so the sunset and the dinner must run back-to-back.
Act three: back to the city (21:00)
Honestly, Hamasen sleeps early. One stop to Yanchengpu puts you in Yancheng’s warehouse bars — Nautilus and The Warm House in walking range, playbook in the Pier-2 guide; or ride to Formosa Blvd for Xinxing’s market and bar circle.
Template: Cijin at four (optional), seawall at five-thirty, Hamasen at seven, Yancheng drink at nine. Parking is scarce — ride the orange line; after drinks, trains and designated drivers close the loop.
